Lots of Newcastle United sparked online scenes of delight after a report linked us with a move for former Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino.
According to the Express, the Argentinian tactician is interested in holding talks with the Tyneside club, with the proposed new owners waiting in the wings for official confirmation.
This comes after The Times revealed that retail tycoon Mike Ashley had agreed to sell the club for £300m to a consortium led by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), Amanda Staveley and the Reuben brothers.
Would you bring Mauricio Pochettino to Newcastle?
At last, this will mean that better times are ahead, with an experienced and talented manager at the helm.
Predicably, supporters were delighted with the news and made their feelings clear on social media. One fan said that he would “cry tears of joy” if Pochettino was unveiled with a black and white scarf around his neck.
