Many Newcastle United fans have been reacting on social media after Steve Bruce shared a message of thanks to the St. James’ Park faithful.
The boss has voiced his gratitude for the reception he and the players have received since first arriving on Tyneside in the summer, noting that supporters have always been terrific in the way they have backed the Magpies under his tenure.
“The supporters have been nothing short of magnificent since I arrived in the summer,” Bruce said, via quotes by the club’s official Twitter account. “I’d like to take this opportunity to say thank you to each and every one of them.”
Bruce was appointed in July to a very underwhelming reception, having been named as the successor to Rafa Benitez, who had led the club back out of the Championship and lifted domestic and European honours during his spells with Liverpool, Chelsea, Valencia and SSC Napoli.
Has Bruce done enough to win you over?
Yes, he's doing a great job

No, he needs to do more

Bruce’s recent comment thanking the fanbase comes after the club announced that current season ticket holders are able to claim an additional half-season ticket for free, which includes ten home Premier League games starting with the visit of Everton to St. James’ Park on Saturday, December 28.
The move comes after the club recorded our lowest-ever home attendance for a Premier League game against Southampton on Sunday, with just 42,303 in attendance as we came back to beat Ralph Hasenhuttl’s south coast natives 2-1.
Here are some of the messages shared as fans reacted to Bruce’s message thanking the supporters…

Hell Yeah Steve Bruce. I’m still proud to support the club, it’s about the guys on the pitch, on the training ground, the ones driving up and down the country. Proud of the toon. Who cares who owns it on paper, it’s about who owns it on the pitch. Looking at you @asaintmaximin 👌
