“Kiss of death,” – These Newcastle fans are unhappy with reporter’s latest tweet

A lot of Newcastle United fans feel that the Evening Chronicle’s Mark Douglas has jinxed Newcastle United with his claim that the Toon have a big opportunity to climb up the table.

A win for Steve Bruce’s men would move us up to ninth and only one point behind fifth.

It would also mean we have won three in a row heading into a tough fixture against Manchester City and a difficult trip to Bramall Lane to face a buoyant Sheffield United side.

A win at Villa Park would make those two fixtures feel less daunting, but if we were to lose to Villa tonight, then by the end of next week, we could have lost three on the bounce and then all the positivity that has built up in recent weeks could be gone.

Who is the better manager?

Bruce will also be keen to get one over his former club, and Newcastle have developed a bit of a rivalry with Villa over the years – so it would be fantastic if we could beat them on their own patch and really keep this good feeling going.

A lot of Newcastle fans, though, are unsure and appear to be nervous about the game.
