A lot of Newcastle United fans feel that the Evening Chronicle’s Mark Douglas has jinxed Newcastle United with his claim that the Toon have a big opportunity to climb up the table.
A win at Villa Park would make those two fixtures feel less daunting, but if we were to lose to Villa tonight, then by the end of next week, we could have lost three on the bounce and then all the positivity that has built up in recent weeks could be gone.
Who is the better manager?
Bruce will also be keen to get one over his former club, and Newcastle have developed a bit of a rivalry with Villa over the years – so it would be fantastic if we could beat them on their own patch and really keep this good feeling going.
A lot of Newcastle fans, though, are unsure and appear to be nervous about the game.
See the best of the reaction below.
Looks like a big opportunity for #nufc tomorrow after a weekend of inactivity.
Win and they go into 9th (just a point off 5th).
Never that straightforward though, is it…

Let’s keep everything crossed and stop the VILLANS ????????

Indeed it’s never that straight forward. In fact one wouldn’t rule out defeats against Villa, Man City and Sheffield Utd for all the doom to return.

They must grab this opportunity but history tells me they won’t ????

Footballs mad sometimes. Sitting rooted in the relegation zone after the Leicester humiliation… 5 games later and a win would take us level with Arsenal& above ManU and Spurs… granted they’re all having mediocre seasons, but its not where we thought we’d be by a long shot ????????♂️
