All Six Newcastle Loanees Handed Starts This Afternoon – Watts Forced Off Early With Injury

Freddie Woodman made his 16th straight start for Swansea as they traveled to play Jacob Murphy and Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough. Jacob Murphy also was handed his first league start in almost two months. He had a goal-scoring cameo at Blackburn last weekend.

It was an exciting game that ended 2-2 with a stoppage-time goal from both sides. Swansea leveled the match in the 94th minute after the Owls had taken the lead three minutes earlier. Jacob Murphy was substituted for by Adam Reach in the 75th minute. The draw leaves Swansea fourth in the table and Sheffield Wednesday seventh.

Rolando Aarons made his fifth start for Wycombe Wanderers as they drew 2-2 at Tranmere in the 1st round of the FA Cup. Aarons played the entire match but was not able to get on the scoresheet after scoring a goal in his last two matches. The replay is scheduled for Wednesday, November 20th at Wycombe.

Midfielder Dan Barlaser found his way back into the fold for Rotherham in their FA Cup game at Maidenhead. Dan had not featured in the two previous matches but got his twelfth start in all competitions as Rotherham won 1-3 to progress to the next round. Barlaser played the entire match for just the third time during his loan spell.

Kelland Watts, who signed a new three-year deal with Newcastle this week, was handed his ninth straight start at home against League One’s Peterborough in the FA Cup. However, Watts was forced off in the 11th minute with an injury. It is believed to be just a knock from an earlier tackle which he was booked for. The match ended 1-1 as former Magpie Marcus Maddison leveled for Peterborough late.

Defender Liam Gibson started for the third straight time as Grimsby Town drew 1-1 against Newport County at home. Liam Gibson played the entire match and this was his eleventh appearance for the Mariners.
