After getting a win on the weekend, Newcastle fans have been given the news that their club could be set to offer out a few new contracts to some of their senior players. The Daily Star claim that Jonjo Shelvey could be in line for a new deal, along with Isaac Hayden, Matt Ritchie and the Longstaff brothers.

The fans, though, have been quick to make their thoughts clear on this. The supporters aren’t all convinced that Shelvey should be rewarded with a new deal at St. James’ Park, although the rest of the senior players being linked with new contracts deserve them as far as the supporters are concerned.
Shelvey was sublime on the weekend when the Magpies won 3-2 away at West ham United at The London Stadium, scoring the third goal which would turn out to be the winner, and whilst not a lot of fans are keen on Shelvey getting a new deal, a lot of the Geordies have been having their say on the situation.
Which of this trio do you want to see get a new deal the most?

I’m surprised Jonjo is getting a new deal, he’s great when he shows up but you don’t always see the best of him.

Giving Schar a new improved one should be priority

The supporters are keen for some new contracts to be banded around, although whether or not Shelvey is one of them is up for debate.
