There has been takeover talk around the north east giants for years and years now, and Keys has gone fishing with his latest hint on the subject.
“Getting the feeling from what I’m hearing that this could yet turn out to be a very good week for Newcastle fans,” he wrote on his personal Twitter account on Monday.
Keys has previously tweeted that Newcastle supporters should ‘Follow me for news of what’s happening’ at the club.
Although Keys doesn’t explicitly mention a potential Newcastle takeover, there’s nothing else he could be talking about here. The Magpies are already coming off a fantastic 3-2 victory over West Ham United on Saturday, while they have no mid-week game, so there’s nothing else he could be talking about other than a potential takeover. We’re not in the transfer market, so he’s not on about a new signing. It’s simply got to be a hint about a takeover. Now, the Newcastle fans will rightly treat what Keys is saying here with plenty of suspicion. He’s not exactly got a great reputation on Tyneside for some of the comments he’s made on Mike Ashley and Rafael Benitez in the past. However, he is now based in the Far East, where there has been plenty of takeover talk surrounding the Magpies in the past. He’s gone fishing, here, but the only thing the Newcastle fans can do now is wait and see if Keys’ prediction proves to be correct.
