“It’s An Amazing Feeling” – Star Speaks About New Six-Year Contract – More To Follow?

Newcastle have just announced that goalkeeper Martin Dubravka has put pen to paper on a new six-year deal.

This is what Martin had to say about signing his new long-term contract:

“It is an amazing feeling. I have to say that it feels like time has flown.

“It’s been almost two years and I’ve found great people here who I can call friends.

“I’ve enjoyed my time here and I’m very glad that I can stay here for another six years.”

This is fantastic news and should bring an end to reports linking Martin with the likes of Juventus and PSG, at least for the foreseeable future.

Steve Bruce also spoke about Dubravka committing his future to Newcastle United:

“I’m really, really pleased that Martin has committed his future to the club.

“He’s been absolutely fantastic since the day he arrived and he’s a hugely important figure for us both on the pitch and in the dressing room.

“He’s a massive part of our plans for the future, so it’s great that he’s agreed to stay with us for the next few years, and a fitting reward for his performances.”

Dubravka was voted as our readers’ best player against Chelsea. Now we can look forward to seeing many more outstanding performances from the Slovakian.

Here is a collection of some of the terrific saves the 30-year-old has made since he joined on loan in 2018.

We hope this is the first domino to fall in terms of new contracts for Newcastle’s core group. Next up we want to see Isaac Hayden, Fabian Schar, the Longstaff brothers, and Freddie Woodman all sitting at that table with pen in hand.
