Newcastle Under-23s lost their second EFL Trophy match 3-0 at Shrewsbury this evening. The youngsters are in last place in Group D. They lost to Macclesfield 2-1 on September 3rd. This is the line-up that Neil Redfearn sent out.

Dan Barlaser was awarded his second straight start in Rotherham’s 3-2 win at home against Doncaster. Dan was substituted in the 73rd minute. He seems to have worked his way back into Rotherham’s team after having a 5 game spell where he only played for 15 minutes.

Rolando Aarons got his first start for Wycombe Wanderers as they faced Kelland Watts and Stevenage at home. Rolando was substituted in the 63rd minute as he works his way back to full fitness. Stevenage won the match 0-1. Kelland Watts played the full ninety minutes.

Liam Gibson was an unused substitute for Grimsby Town at Sunderland this evening. Sunderland sacked their manager Jack Ross earlier today. Unfortunately, Will Grigg scored a goal in the 86th minute for a 3-2 Grimsby loss. They should have put Liam in late to shore up that defense.

Elias Sorensen got a run out for the Carlisle reserves earlier this afternoon. He was able to score a goal as Carlisle won the friendly at Rangers reserves 1-2. Sorensen has been an unused substitute in Carlisle’s last two league games.
