Report – Leicester City May Be Without Key Player On Sunday

Newcastle may face a James Maddison-less Leicester City on Sunday. The attacking midfielder suffered an ankle injury in their comeback win against Tottenham last weekend and is a doubt for Sunday.

Maddison was able to play through the injury as Leicester had used all of their substitutes but Leicestershire Live is reporting that the 22-year-old is likely to be out this weekend against Newcastle.

Maddison has underwent a scan on his ankle and it is reportedly not looking good on him being able to recover in time. Leicester City assistant manager Chris Davies had this to say about their English midfielder:

“Madders, he got a knock on his ankle. He looks a doubt for the weekend. We’ll see how he goes and how he recovers next week.”

James Maddison has been sensational for the Foxes this season. He is in superb form and has become the heartbeat of their team. While it is a shame that Maddison was injured, if he only misses the Newcastle match we suppose that would not be too awful.

After all it is just one game, and Newcastle can use any advantage that comes their way. If he is unable to feature, ex-Newcastle target Dennis Praet may get the start in his place.
