Elias Sorensen Gets Full 90 Minutes For Carlisle In EFL Trophy Defeat

Elias got just his second start for Carlisle United this evening in their 4-2 defeat in an EFL Trophy match against the Wolves U-21 team. Most importantly it was his first full 90 minute appearance. In his only other start against Scunthorpe in the league, Elias was pulled at half-time due to a tactical change.

While Carlisle ended up suffering a defeat, Elias did contribute on their second goal by Ryan Loft. That goal made it 2-2 just before the half but Carlisle was not able to capitalize in the second half.

It may not have been the best performance from Sorensen but he did get through the full match so that is something to be happy about.

One Carlisle fan on Twitter compared Sorensen to former Newcastle youth player Richard Offiong who also spent some time on loan at Carlisle. So we are not sure what to make of this performance but the fact that he made it through the full match is at least somewhat of a positive.

Let’s hope that Sorensen can build on this appearance and make something fruitful of his experience at Carlisle.
