BBC Pundit Mark Lawrenson predicts Newcastle will come away with all three points against Brighton tomorrow at St James Park. Lawrenson has Newcastle down to win 2-0 in the late afternoon match.
Mark didn’t have too much to say on this one instead making the point that teams need to beat the teams around them at home when they are in the bottom five. This is what he said about the match:
Steve Bruce is still waiting for his first win at St James’ Park as Newcastle manager and this will obviously be a very good time to get it.
Both of these teams are in the bottom five, and it is important to beat the teams around you, especially at home.
Newcastle are no strangers to the bottom end of the table this early in the season. A win would get the team out of the relegation zone and most likely into the top end of the bottom ten.
We could see the return of Andy Carroll and hope to hear some positive news on the injuries from Steve Bruce’s press conference this morning.
If Newcastle are going to get the victory tomorrow, they’ll likely need a goal or two from Joelinton. Miguel Almiron will also need to put in a better performance in the final third. This is a golden opportunity for Miguel to get off the mark for Newcastle.
