OPINION

Newcastle will definitely be wanting to finalise their plans early so that they can enter January with their sights firmly set on a list of players. If they entered the winter market with no plans, they would need to use the majority of the window tracking talent and then face a race against time to secure deals for any potential new players. With Bruce also confident of securing the nucleus of his current side to new deals, another couple of new signings could see Newcastle significantly stronger come the start of next season. Bruce will have wanted promises that he will be given time to mould his side to his liking, and the early signs look good for the Magpies’ man. Nickson will be eager to complete the meeting with Bruce and his team, and with one or two players in the pipeline, it appears as if Newcastle are very set on what they want to do in January.
