Steve Bruce has just revealed that Sean Longstaff will be out for tomorrow’s clash at Liverpool with an ankle injury.
Bruce: “Unfortunately, Sean Longstaff turned his ankle over yesterday in training – one of those freak ones where a ball hit him and rocked his ankle. We don’t think it’s too serious but he’s certainly not available for Saturday.” #NUFC @bbcnewcastle

While it does not appear to be too serious, this is another key player added to the growing injury list. Jonjo Shelvey will likely get the nod in the midfield. However, this game really does not suit him.
We think that there could be a chance that Matty Longstaff could make his Premier League debut for Newcastle. He is better defensively than Jonjo, and let’s face it, Newcastle are going to be under assault for most of this game.
It does appear like Miguel Almiron will be fit for the game. Miguel returned from international duty yesterday, and Steve says it looks like he has recovered well.
Bruce: “Almiron was back yesterday. We’ll see how he is today but it looks as though he’s recovered (from travelling) after seeing him yesterday.” #NUFC @bbcnewcastle

We would expect Almiron to get the start tomorrow with such limited options in attack. Though we wouldn’t mind it if Bruce found a way to get Yoshinori Muto into the lineup as well.
