Elias Sorensen has yet to start a game for Carlisle United since he joined them a couple of weeks ago. It appears as though manager Steven Pressley is slowly working Elias into the side. Currently, he has made three substitute appearances and played a total of 90 minutes for the League 2 club.
Elias could get a starting nod this Saturday as Carlisle with play Scunthorpe. Pressley has preferred Olufela Olomola to Sorensen thus far. However, Olomola is on loan at Carlisle from Scunthorpe so will be unavailable to play on Saturday.
Steven Pressley gave an interview after Carlisle’s 2-1 defeat at Rochdale in the Carabao Cup last night. Elias came on for Olomola in the 64th minute and had a couple of excellent chances to score late in the game.

This is what Pressley said about Sorensen during his interview after last night’s game at Rochdale. His comments are in reference to a chance that Sorensen missed in injury time and come at the 5:25 mark in the interview:
“His goals will come because he’s getting into the positions. It’ll take a little bit of time, but his goals will come. I have real faith in that kid.”
We hope that Sorensen will start at home against Scunthorpe this Saturday. He needs to get more time on the pitch to continue his development, and it looks like this Saturday could be a timely opportunity for him to get a full game.
Below are some highlights of Carlisle match last night. The Sorensen chance occurs at the 1:45 mark in the video.
