Newcastle United attacker Joelinton may have only joined the club mere weeks ago, but it seems a large section of Magpies supporters are already regretting his arrival, well at least that was the case during the first half of the Magpies’ clash with Norwich City on Saturday. The 23-year-old forward notably missed a sitter against the Canaries that would have put Steve Bruce’s side ahead, and to make matters worse Norwich then scored in order to go into the half-time break with a 1-0 lead. A couple of Newcastle fans dubbed Joelinton a donkey, while several couldn’t help but notice that the 23-year-old wasn’t as good as former Magpie Salomon Rondon. Considering that Saturday’s clash with Norwich, was only the 23-year-old’s second competitive game in English football, it does seem harsh that some Magpies fans below were already writing him off. Joelinton scored five goals and seven assists for Hoffenheim last season, averaging a rating of 7.21 (Source: WhoScored), and it’s worth noting that he did impress in the Magpies’ opening league game against Arsenal as he achieved a rating of 7.08. So maybe, the Newcastle fans below should chill out when it comes to the 23-year-old fluffing his lines.
