Report – Newcastle Youngster Secures Big Loan Opportunity

Yesterday in an interview with the Chronicle, Elias Sorensen spoke on his desire to remain at Newcastle and fight for a place in the first team.

He made the following comments when asked about going out on loan:

“It’s up to the manager now.

“It depends what he wants me to do.

“Personally I’d rather stay and fight for a place, but it’s up to him.

“If he wants me to go out on loan I’ll do that.”

It may be the case that a loan deal has already been arranged for the young Danish striker. Football Insider is reporting that Carlisle United have secured a loan deal for the 19-year-old.

If Elias does end up going to Carlisle, Newcastle must make sure that the youngster is handled correctly. Sorensen’s loan spell to Blackpool was not helpful to the striker’s development. He ended up playing only 32 minutes and was ultimately recalled after a string of six straight games where he failed to even make the bench.

Sorensen really needs to get first-team football as he will not get it at Newcastle. We hope that this report of a loan move to Carlisle is accurate, and that Elias can start banging in the goals for the League Two club.
