This is how we think Steve Bruce will have the team set up for tomorrow’s match against Arsenal at St James Park.
We think they’ll line up in the same 3-5-2 formation Steve Bruce has been using since he was appointed. In our opinion, he’ll also keep the same team that started against St-Etienne last weekend with the exception that Jetro Willems will come in for Rolando Aarons at left wing-back. Aarons did not make the 25-man squad.
We don’t think Steve Bruce will risk Matt Ritchie even though he has returned to full training. There is just no need to risk him with his slight hamstring injury. Jetro Willems is a natural left wing-back and even though he has only been with the squad for just over a week, he should be fine to start on Sunday.
With Steve just using the two strikers, that will leave Allan Saint-Maximin as an impact sub. We think the substitutes bench will also contain Karl Darlow, Paul Dummett, Ciaran Clark, Ki Sung-yueng, Emil Krafth, and Yoshinori Muto.
