There is a report coming out of France that Newcastle will complete a deal for SC Amiens right-back Emil Krafth this week.

The above tweet translates to:
Swede Emil Krafth To Sign With Newcastle
The article in the Courrier picard claims that an initial offer of €1.5m was rejected but that further progress was made over the weekend. It does not give any details on an agreed fee but does say that Krafth will leave the French club for Newcastle. It also details how Amiens will now look for further recruits to replace Krafth.
Krafth was left out of Amiens final preseason friendly against Leganes and the French article claims that he has returned to Sweden.
However, the Sun’s Alan Nixon has followed up with some contacts and denied that the deal is done yet.
No. I checked it with those involved. It’s not done yet. https://t.co/2XaSTt2T6s

We do think Newcastle are pushing to get Emil Krafth in but that there is further work to be done. It does look like the player really wants to come and the fact that he was not involved at all in the final preseason friendly does lead us to believe that a deal may be close.
The report from France seems certain that Krafth will sign with Newcastle this week while the follow up from Alan Nixon says it is not quite done yet. But Krafth does seem to be the main target at the moment.
