Newcastle United have confirmed that Freddie Woodman has signed a one-year contract extension to 2021. They also confirm his season long loan deal to Swansea. This is excellent news for Freddie who has a real opportunity to play first-team football now in the Championship.

Swansea have also confirmed the signing of Woodman and seem delighted to have him on board.

Here are a few tweets from Swansea fans about the acquisition of our 22-year-old goalkeeper for this coming season. They seem to think that he will get quite a few first-team games and add quality to their goalkeeping ranks.
We also wonder how much of a role our new Loan Coordinator Shola Ameobi played in getting this deal. If he has played a big role then he deserves some credit.
Freddie Woodman on loan seems smart business again. Both our keepers are known to be dodgy, so hopefully we have a consistent number one for this season. Part of me feels a bit for Benda though.

Since the Woodman thing has broke, the whole of Swans Twitter seems to have that uplift feeling again ?? #Swans

I don’t know much about Freddie Woodman but considering Arsenal were rumoured to be interested in signing him as Leno’s understudy I’d like to think he’s a pretty good keeper. Hopefully up to the task of being our no.1 this season. #Swans

Really good signing for Swansea. Freddy’s highly rated by NUFC and will surely benefit under Cooper.
