It seems that Steve is still very positive that Isaac will be staying at this club at least through the first half of the season. Here is the update Bruce has given on Hayden’s situation at Newcastle:
“He’s another really good young player who I had the privilege to work with at Hull.
“All the indications are positive, so let’s hope we can persuade him to stay and play his football at Newcastle.
“Certainly, that’s what I want.”
These comments mirror almost exactly the ones Bruce shared a week ago about Hayden.
This is what Steve Bruce said last week about Hayden’s future at Newcastle:
“Hopefully, that’ll be resolved. He’s indicated to me that is going to be the case.
“I certainly hope so. We all want him to stay. He is the type of player that I enjoy working with.
“Let’s hope things can progress positively.”
This is good news that there have been no negative developments in regards to Hayden. It is looking likely that he will be a Magpie once the season kicks off a week on Sunday.
We still are a tad bit concerned about Martin Dubravka although all signs are that he will start in Saturday’s final preseason game against St-Etienne. It’s getting a little late for Newcastle to have any departures as we are still awaiting a few more incomings.
Mark Douglas has tweeted the following about incomings and none appear to be imminent. So Newcastle may be leaving it late in the window but as long as they can do decent business and get the players that are need in then it’s better late than never.
Working on it. Nothing appears imminent – and they’d been hoping to get a couple done by Thur/Fri. Have a feeling it could down to the wire now.
