Joelinton To Newcastle Is Nearing Completion According To Hoffenheim Boss – Player Is Set For Medical

Goal journalist Ronan Murphy has tweeted out the following about the Joelinton to Newcastle deal. The deal looks to be almost complete and will be our first transfer business this summer.

The Mirror also have a report out confirming that new Hoffenheim boss Alfred Schreuder has announced that Joelinton will leave the club.

This is what he has said as reported in the Mirror:

“It’s not my decision, that’s what the club does,” declared the head coach, who replaced Julian Nagelsmann this summer.

“It’s always the same in football: when players leave, it also opens up room for other players, and of course it’s a shame he’s leaving, but it’s also a matter of philosophy.”

Well he doesn’t sound too happy as this is the third big departure behind Nico Shulz and Karem Demirbay for Hoffenheim this summer.

This is a good start to the Steve Bruce era though many more signings are needed to solidify the squad for the season ahead. This will also be the second club record signing this year after Miguel Almiron’s arrival this January.

Here is a scouting report of our soon to be new striker written by World Football Index.
