According to multiple reports, Steve Bruce has resigned from his position as manager of Sheffield Wednesday.
The news broke from the Northern correspondent of the Times, Paul Joyce. This is what he tweeted earlier.
Steve Bruce is understood to have resigned as Sheffield Wednesday manager this morning, along with assistants Steve Agnew and Stephen Clemence. All three put resignations in writing. Newcastle have made an offer of compensation to Sheffield Wed – but it is still to be accepted.

This is just so unfortunate that Sheffield Wednesday fans have had to be dragged into the mess Mike Ashley has created for Newcastle United.
Both sets of fans will be just fuming and Steve Bruce has not shown any bit of the supposed decency he’s said to possess.
It will be interesting to see if Sheffield Wednesday owner Dejphon Chansiri relents on the compensation package for Bruce and his two assistants.
He will now be on the hunt for a new manager so his attention will have to be shifted to that search.
This does not look good for Newcastle fans as Bruce looks headed our way. His actions at Hillsborough have not been dignified.
One could say it is better for him to resign now as the situation with the Owls was growing toxic like it is on Tyneside.
However, the resignation of Bruce and assistants Steve Agnew and Stephen Clemence makes it look like the path is paved to Newcastle for the trio.
We were hopeful they would remain with them as we just do not want him at Newcastle due to his dire Premier League record.
The name of Newcastle United has again been tarnished by Mike Ashley as he has pinched a manager from a reluctant club.
