Report – Sean Longstaff Told He Is Not Top Priority For Red Devils

The Manchester Evening News has an interesting report about Manchester United’s transfer tactics.

What is of interest to Newcastle fans comes late in the article and mentions Sean Longstaff.

This is what Samuel Luckhurst writes in the Manchester Evening News:

What compounds United’s market strategy is their coldness. Multiple agency sources have told the MEN United sometimes can make a target feel undervalued via a negotiating tactic; whereby they suggest the player is on a shortlist of prospective signings, rather than their first choice.

“It’s one of their failings,” a source who has dealt with United told the MEN. Longstaff’s representatives were told there were ‘a few ahead of him’ regarding the club’s efforts to sign a central midfielder. United have still not signed a central midfielder.

This is interesting news and for a player, like Longstaff, who is torn about leaving his club, it could be a bit off-putting.

These are types of tactics we would expect from the Newcastle Hierarchy and not a club like Manchester United.

This is a little extra positive news on the Longstaff front. Yesterday, Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol sent out the following tweet on Sean Longstaff.

We will take all the postives we can get at the moment as we prepare ourselves for a season of survival.
